Meet our Staff


Amalia Trieger Jen Champion Kimby Maxson

Inspired by the invitation yoga offers to practice and grow in community, Amalia’s classes will nurture self awareness alongside awareness of the larger ecosystem. Influenced by years of dance, her classes pulse with life, humor, curiosity, and dynamic stillness. Amalia studied with Sarahjoy Marsh at the DAYA foundation in Portland OR and completed her 200 hour teacher training with a focus on mindfulness, neuroscience, and Ayurveda. Her ongoing studies into functional movement, yoga therapy, and human biomechanics show up as creative and challenging practices, applicable both in and out of the studio.  A native Oregonian, self proclaimed movement nerd, and longtime teacher, Amalia offers a nurturing space for students to tune in to their own deep reservoir of strength and stillness. She invites curious exploration of the human condition with great empathy for its challenges, and appreciation for its many joys.

Jen leads traditional hatha yoga classes designed to make yoga accessible to every body. Jen brings soothing qualities to her inspiring classes with her genuine caring attitude. She encourages students to form postures with proper alignment and smooth coordination of breath and movement. At the seat of her instruction and classes are the practices of asana (pose/posture), pranayama (awareness of breath), and meditation (mental contemplation and clarity). Jen enjoys sharing yoga and encouraging people to live in peace and grace - both on and off the mat.  Jen has been teaching yoga for 18 years and has shared yoga with people ages 1-100. She received her 200 hour certification with teachers inspired by Swami Kripalu at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and has started her 500 hour studies at The Himalayan Institute with pillar teachers inspired by Swami Rama and Pandit Rajmani. She has studied Tri and Iyengar Yoga and Trance Dance and has completed workshops in Meditation, Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga and Transformational Living.

She has studied Tri and Iyengar Yoga and Trance Dance and has completed workshops in Meditation, Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga and Transformational Living.

I have had a full time massage practice with a focus on medical massage and recovery since 1999. My work as a massage therapist, and former midwife has given me a deep understanding of anatomy, physiology and nuances of the ever changing human body.  After a cancer diagnosis in 1998, I struggled with regaining my strength, stamina and comfort as well as managing the affects of scar tissue . It was then that I found yoga which helped me to navigate living in my new body.  I currently teach Modified Yoga for the City of Eugene Adaptive Rec Center, specialty workshops, facilitate health retreats and am now pleased to be part of the Vista team.  I believe that anyone can practice yoga regardless of experience or health status.  My classes are tailored to accommodate all levels and needs.
