Comprehensive ADHD Evaluation

Welcome to ADHD Assessments

Questions we often hear include:

  • What exactly is ADHD?
  • How do I know if I have ADHD?
  • Isn’t ADHD over-diagnosed?
  • Do I really need medication?
  • I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD. Now what?

We Can Help

Vista Counseling offers ADHD assessments for children, adolescents, and adults who are struggling with focus, attention, learning, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. We also offer counseling for individuals and families who are impacted by ADHD.

We understand how difficult it can be to wade through all the confusing information about ADHD.

At Vista, our staff of highly trained professionals can help you receive an accurate take on whether or not you or your child has ADHD, and what to do next.

We offer two different evaluation options:

ADHD Consultation

The first service is an ADHD Consultation which involves completing behavioral questionnaires and a participating in a telehealth interview with our psychologist, Dr. Karrie Walters, to discuss your concerns.  Dr. Walters can offer guidance on possible next steps regarding diagnosis as well as offer suggestions for accommodations in work/school and at home that may be beneficial for you. In addition to being a licensed psychologist, Dr. Walters also holds a Master’s degree in Special Education.  She has many years of experience working with children and adults with ADHD and learning disabilities. This is a consultation appointment only; no official diagnosis will be made or report written. We do not bill insurance for this consultation. This service is $300 and is self-pay only, although a payment plan can be arranged if needed. We can often schedule these appointments fairly quickly, usually within a few weeks.

ADHD Psychological Evaluation

This service includes a full battery of cognitive testing, in addition to behavioral questionnaires, an interview with the psychologist, and a phone consult with a teacher or parent. This service is recommended for more complicated cases or if there are concerns of a learning disability. This service includes an official diagnosis and a lengthy report that can be taken to the school or workplace for accommodations or to a health care provider for treatment or medication.

This service costs $1500 and a payment plan can be arranged.  We may be able to bill insurance in some cases, but coverage varies depending on your plan.  At this time, we are only able to accommodate a few of these appointments each month, so the wait time to schedule may be significantly longer than usual.
