Disordered Eating

Disordered Eating

Struggling with Eating?

Does this sound familiar?

  • Obsessed with your body or weight?
  • Making yourself throw up after eating?
  • Eating too much?
  • Feeling guilty about eating?
  • Setting rules and restrictions about food?
  • Refusing to eat in public?
  • Seriously over or under weight?

We Can Help.

Therapy can help. It’s usually NOT about the food, and figuring out why you’ve chosen to risk your health and happiness for (usually) unrealistic goals can free you from the pain of living with an eating disorder.

We have therapists who specialize in working with individuals with symptoms of anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating.

Disordered eating can be devastating and painful to both experience and witness. If you have an unhealthy relationship with food, please consider seeking help. If you know someone you suspect is victim to disordered eating, please encourage them to seek help.

What is Disordered Eating?

Disordered Eating generally presents as a preoccupation with food, either avoiding it, using it for reward, punishment, or a method of self control. Sometimes this affliction morphs into a full Eating Disorder, which is one of the leading causes of death for young women in the US today.

Prior to seeking therapy to maintain health, some clients may require an intense outpatient or inpatient treatment program. There are excellent facilities for treatment in Oregon and we can help you get connected.
