Right now, essential workers are faced with a lot of responsibility, which can be a lot to take in.
Every day is a journey full of unknowns which can be exhausting and bring on stress and anxiety.
The good news is there are several ways you can take care of your mental health and overall wellbeing during the pandemic.
Reach Out To Loved Ones:
Keeping in touch with friends and family is so important – especially now.
Even though your loved ones may not be able to completely eliminate your stress, just knowing someone is there can help put your worries at ease. If you have a friend who never fails to make you laugh, now is the perfect time to call them!
Focus On Yourself:
When we live such busy lives, it’s normal to put other people’s needs above our own. If you’re feeling tired, don’t fight through it. Listen to what your body is telling you, and call it a night. Chances are you’ll feel a lot better in the morning.
Practice Relaxation:
When you’re experiencing burnout or stress, cracking open a good book isn’t always enough to fully relax.
Muscle relaxation, deep breathing exercises, meditation and journaling are all excellent relaxation techniques you can implement on a day to day basis.
If you do happen to experience anxiety or stress during a shift, you can take a step back and practice any of the above exercises.
